Castello di Brolio · Barone Ricasoli

Chianti Classico DOCG · Est. 1141

The oldest winery in Italy and the birthplace of the modern Chianti wine formula. In 1872, Baron Bettino Ricasoli — twice Prime Minister of Italy — codified the blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Malvasia that defined Chianti for a century. The current Baron, Francesco Ricasoli, has transformed the estate’s quality dramatically since 1993. The castle, commanding views across the southern zone, is open for visits.
