Chianti Classico DOCG
The Chianti Classico zone is one of the world's most ancient wine territories — a corrugated landscape of limestone and galestro soils stretching between Florence and Siena, where Sangiovese has been cultivated for centuries. Defined in 1932 and elevated to DOCG status in 1984, its boundaries enclose some 7,200 hectares of vine, divided among historic estates, family farms, and medieval hamlets.
The symbol of the zone is the Gallo Nero — the Black Rooster — an emblem dating to a 13th-century legend of rivalry between Florence and Siena. Today it marks a wine of rigorous terroir expression: Sangiovese in its most eloquent form, capable of extraordinary longevity and complexity. From the approachable Annata to the single-vineyard Gran Selezione, Chianti Classico speaks in many voices — all of them worth listening to.

Chioccioli Altadonna
The estate in Gaiole was built on the legacy of Federico Chioccioli — one of the most celebrated consulting oenologists in Tuscany, the kind of agronomist whose influence ran across the entire Chianti Classico zone. His sons divided the inheritance with the precision he would have recognised: Niccolò as winemaker of the second generation; Enrico, a lawyer who retrained himself entirely, as the estate's Master Distiller — and the founder of Winestillery, Tuscany's first independent craft distillery within the Chianti Classico zone.
The wines — led by Carismante, a Gran Selezione aged twenty-four months in French oak, and Fossivento, the estate Chianti Classico — follow Federico's philosophy: handpicked at strict low yields, unhurried. Winestillery operates by a "Grape to Glass Manifesto": gin, vodka, vermouth, bitter, and a Tuscan malt whisky matured in Chianti wine casks. Two disciplines, one estate, one conviction — nothing worth drinking should be made in haste.
